Flatbed Towing

There are basically two types of towing techniques, dolly towing, where only one end of the towed vehicle is lifted off the road, and flatbed towing.
Although dolly towing may be a good choice in some situations calling for light to medium duty towing, more often than not towing flatbed provides the best possible solution.

Safer and Faster

Flatbed towing is considered the safest method of towing. This is true to all stages of the towing operation, from hoisting up the vehicle in need of towing, through driving the loaded tow truck to the designated destination and then also while lowering the towed vehicle and releasing it from the tow truck.
In flatbed towing all of the towed vehicle’s wheels are no longer in contact with the road, the whole vehicle lays securely on one flat surface at the back of the tow truck. It is both easier to haul up the vehicle as well as to negotiate the loaded tow truck through traffic. This is why, ultimately, flatbed towing is both the safest and fastest way to tow.

Loading Up

With flatbed towing the towed vehicle is pulled up onto the flatbed using a winch. In some cases flatbed towing is the only option, such as with vehicles suffering from broken axles or vehicles badly damaged in crashes.
Although flatbed towing requires just the same level of professionalism and concentration as dolly towing it is simpler to perform it flawlessly, guaranteeing the safety of everyone involved as well as inflicting no further damage to the vehicle towed, the tow truck or any other vehicle or property for that matter.
